Frequently Asked Questions
Is a smoker cover essential for UAE ProQ Excel outdoor storage?
Yes — a smoker cover is strongly recommended for UAE ProQ Excel owners who store their smoker outdoors year-round. UAE outdoor conditions are particularly challenging for unprotected outdoor cooking equipment: intense UV from direct UAE sun degrades painted metal surfaces and seals; coastal humidity in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and UAE coastal cities accelerates surface oxidation; and UAE desert dust and sand accumulate in vents, grates, and internal components affecting smoking performance. The ProQ Excel Cover's weatherproof design addresses all UAE outdoor exposure risks and significantly extends the practical working life of the ProQ Excel investment.
Should the ProQ Excel be fully cooled before fitting the ProQ Smoker Cover?
Yes — the ProQ Excel 20 must be fully cooled to ambient temperature before fitting the smoker cover. Covering a hot or warm ProQ Excel traps residual heat and moisture under the cover, which can damage the cover material and create a moist environment on the smoker exterior that promotes corrosion rather than preventing it. UAE ProQ Excel operators should allow the smoker to cool completely after each UAE smoking session — typically 2-3 hours in UAE ambient conditions — before fitting the cover for UAE outdoor storage between sessions.
