Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Pulaski axe used for?
A Pulaski axe is a combination tool with an axe blade on one side and an adze (a transverse hoe-like blade) on the other. It was designed for wildland fire fighters who need to both chop wood and break open soil simultaneously. For UAE farm use, it is excellent for clearing brush, chopping roots, breaking compacted soil, and general land management work.
Can I use the Pulaski Axe for firewood prep?
Yes — the axe side of the Pulaski is effective for chopping firewood, though a dedicated felling axe or hatchet is more efficient for pure firewood work. The Pulaski is most valuable when you need both chopping and ground-breaking capability in a single tool.
