Frequently Asked Questions
What type of steel is the Wilderness Chef Knife made from?
The Barebones Wilderness Chef Knife uses high-carbon steel — the traditional choice for outdoor and chef knives that prioritises edge retention and sharpness over the rust resistance of stainless steel. High-carbon steel takes a finer, keener edge and is preferred by serious outdoor cooks. Keep it clean and oiled to maintain the blade in UAE humidity conditions.
How do I care for a high-carbon steel knife in the UAE climate?
After each use, wipe the blade clean and dry immediately. Apply a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil or knife oil periodically to prevent oxidation. Store in a dry place or leather sheath. With proper care, high-carbon steel knives last a lifetime and develop a beautiful patina.
Where can I buy Barebones knives in the UAE?
All Barebones knives are available exclusively at Elite Horizon (ehdxb.ae), delivering across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and all UAE emirates.
