Frequently Asked Questions
Is a felling axe suitable for splitting firewood for a UAE fire pit?
A felling axe can split firewood but is optimised for chopping across the grain of wood (felling). For splitting firewood with the grain, a dedicated splitting maul or large splitting hatchet is more efficient. For most UAE outdoor cooking firewood prep, the Field Hatchet handles smaller rounds and kindling, while the Felling Axe is ideal for users managing trees and larger timber on UAE farms.
How do I care for a hickory axe handle?
Periodically apply raw linseed oil to the handle to prevent it drying out and cracking, especially in UAE heat and low humidity conditions. Allow oil to soak in and wipe excess off. Store the axe in a dry location out of direct UAE sun when not in use.
