Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Field Hatchet and the Felling Axe?
The Field Hatchet is a compact, single-handed tool designed for processing kindling and small logs — perfect for UAE camp fire prep. The Felling Axe is a larger, two-handed tool for felling small trees and splitting larger firewood. For fire pit and Cowboy Grill fire prep, the Field Hatchet is the appropriate tool.
How do I sharpen a Barebones hatchet?
Use the Barebones File & Stone Sharpening Kit, available at Elite Horizon. Follow the original bevel of the blade — typically a convex edge on hatchets. Sharpen in smooth, arc-shaped strokes along the full blade edge for best results.
