Frequently Asked Questions
Why are Cocoshell briquettes better than standard charcoal for UAE ProQ low-and-slow smoking?
ProQ Cocoshell Charcoal Briquettes are specifically suited for UAE low-and-slow BBQ smoking in ProQ bullet smokers because their dense coconut shell composition delivers consistent, even heat output for 6-8+ hours — the burn duration required for UAE brisket, pork shoulder, and lamb leg low-and-slow sessions. Standard charcoal briquettes often contain binders and additives that create temperature inconsistency and off-flavours during long UAE smoking sessions. Cocoshell briquettes' cleaner coconut shell carbon composition produces minimal smoke, low ash, and stable temperatures that make UAE ProQ smoker temperature management significantly more straightforward.
How much Cocoshell charcoal does a UAE ProQ smoker session typically require?
A typical UAE ProQ Frontier or Ranger low-and-slow smoking session (6-8 hours at 110-120°C) uses approximately 1.5-2.5kg of ProQ Cocoshell briquettes depending on UAE ambient temperature, wind conditions, and vent settings. UAE summer ProQ smoking sessions in outdoor conditions may use slightly more fuel due to the need to maintain smoker temperature against the ambient heat affecting charcoal burn dynamics. A 10kg bag of ProQ Cocoshell provides 4-6 full UAE ProQ smoking sessions, making it practical value for UAE regular ProQ BBQ enthusiasts who smoke weekly or bi-weekly.
